Tegelaar explores and reinterprets undervalued materials, such as chicken wire and reclaimed wood, aiming to create new applications for these unconventional resources. The challenge is to project new forms and qualities, and to create new aesthetics. This creative journey of redefining materials and crafting innovative product designs has formed the Sasi-collection, which is made from aluminium in different surface finishes. The subtle contrast between anodized and polished metal is an important design motif in Rick Tegelaar’s collection for Nuura.
